Bio

My research interests are at the intersection of philosophy of technology, ethics and cognitive sciences with a focus on the impact of emerging technologies on our cognitive processes and capabilities. Overall, I seek to understand how technology may transform, enhance or diminish these capabilities, particularly memory. I attach importance to ally philosophical perspectives, empirical studies and ethical questions. I am also interested in epistemological functions of thought experiments and by representations and imaginations inherited from science-fiction. My current project explores human-artificial intelligence interaction through an augmented reality device which acts as a memory aid. My PhD proposal involves 3 approaches: 1) situated cognition, philosophy of memory, external memory, (theoretical approaches); 2) Cognitive prostheses, technological external memory (experimental approaches); 3) Neuroethics, cognitive enhancement, memory modification technologies (ethical and societal approaches).
